Keeping up with Kanye
You’ve read the tweets, and enjoyed the re-imagining of same as New Yorker cartoons. Next, listen to his brilliant King Crimson sampling Power, then watch the video (featuring no less than the Sword of Damocles), before finally enjoying the official remix. “No one man should have all that power” indeed.

150 bots running 24/7
How to make US$5k a month running WoW gold farming bots:
The bots are setup in a way that they will talk to people, leave area where people are, look and act like a real person. they are also on a timer and re-log, take rests every few hours. In case a GM whispers one of the bots, I get a phone message and can talk back to the GM through a web browser (this saved me many many times)

Star Wars on Blu-ray: no classic version
George Lucas veers further to the dark side:
Lucas’s posturing about cultural legacy when it comes to his beloved black-and-white classics should surely apply here. That legacy was defined the moment the first Star Wars film opened in 1977. By his own standard that means the films now belong to audiences, in their original, unaltered form.

Tim Carmody: kottke.org guest star
Tim Carmondy was killing it last week as a guest editor at kottke.org. Worth reading every post, but some highlights include:
- Athletes are different from you and me
- Three ways of looking at Steve Jobs
- The Personism movement
- The Theatre of illness
Time to follow TC on twitter methinks.

More shark action
This guy saw some sharks - GREAT WHITE SHARKS - when paddling around, so naturally he went back out the next day with a camera. Heart in throat stuff.

Scottie Pippen: Hall of Famer
I’m wearing my Pippen jersey all week in celebration:
To me, Scottie Pippen was the ultimate embodiment of team basketball, on both ends of the floor, and played with a physical grace that made him at least as aesthetically pleasing to watch as any player of his era, including his most famous teammate.

Happy Shark Week
Pixar’s Josh Cooley doesn’t like sharks. He’s wrong, they’re awesome.
BP has the right idea. How much more oil do we need to dump into the ocean to kill these bastards?

Washington - I Believe You Liar
Spritely, bouncy, instantly catchy local indie pop from Megan Washington, who wrote everything and played most of the instruments. Talented smart pop goodness.
When I’m gone don’t bury me, I will not lie under this town I will not lie where I can’t see, please don’t put me underground If the day is sunny, let my father say some words If the night is starry, let my mother tell you all her stories.

Arcade Fire No.1
Pretty amazing for a definitively indie band that isn’t exactly bubblegum pop.
